Sara Errani and Jelena Jankovic all set for the fourth round of French Open
Jelena Jankovic, 3 time semi finalist in the French Open and Sara Errani French Open finalist of the year 2012 proceeded towards the 4th round post defeating their respective competitors. Jelena Jankovic previously held the No. 1 position in the world and faced off Sorana Cirstea during the third round of the French Open, who had a better record of bagging three out of five matches against the Serbian.
In the last meet between the two, Cirstea had won the game and had bagged both the games as well on the clay court. One of the games was a 3 set thriller held at the French Open pre quarterfinals in 2009 in which the Romanian has bagged the game in the 3rd set with a s core of 9-7.
However it dints seem like Jankovic was in any mood to lay off steam to Cirstea and wanted to win the game by hook or by crook. She completely smashed all 4 service games of Cirstea within the 1st set and bagged the game by 6-1.
Cirstea couldn’t match up to Jankovic in the 2nd set as well and could hold just a single service game, while the latter again won the second set by 6-2. Post this Jankovic moved right into the final sixteen for the sixth time in her 11th time at the French Open.
Sara Errani, the 2013 semifinalist and 2012 finalist seemed like in deadly form as well as she defeated Julia Glushko in mere 52 minutes with the score of 6-0, 6-1 and make it right through the quarter finals.
The two lethal competitors will face of each other once more in no time at all as they had already encountered in Rome for the semi finals.
